In our society, financial stability is a very large factor of our lives. When a teenager turns eighteen, he/she may get a credit card. Credit cards are considered to be very dangerous in the hands of teenagers, as they would just spend without thinking about the consequences it may leave on them.
As a student, you want to build up your credit rating so that student loans are easily attainable. If you ruin your borrowing capability, it could mean that a financial institution may deny your student loan, even though it is for your education. Students often get cars at a young age and they tend to finance the vehicle.
It is important students learn how to budget and learn to spend wisely. If you spend like there is no tomorrow, you would be stuck in a tough financial pickle. There are support groups that help students with bad credit or debt, so try consulting one if you are in this situation.

Well, this is my first year at the faculty but I had a credit card since I was in high school. I must say that I’m a responsible person and I’m always thinking twice before spending my money on something. I think that, when you are a student you have a lot of opportunities to make a career and I think that responsability should be your best quality.

Yes that’s true. In the teenage, children usually tend to lose control towards several things. Specially when it comes to spending lavishly. However, if the student is well aware of what his financial status is and what is he capable of. It is a responsibility that should be taken seriously. However, if they do run out of credit and lose their credibility. A good way to come over it is by doing odd jobs. If they can fill in their accounts back again, they will be away from trouble. Also, they will get a taste of professional life and it’s problems.

This does happen to a lot of people. This actually happened to my aunt. She spends like there is no tomorrow and now she is in a lot of debt. I noticed that she loves to go shopping and using up her money for all this junk. But, now I see that she has changed and she’s spending a lot less than normal. I am proud of her.
I’m pretty sure that I won’t end up like her. I see what happens when you use your credit card like no tomorrow which is why I won’t let it happen to me.

I wish I had planned this out better when I was younger. Instead I’m trying to build my credit up now.
I should have started back in college or high school, as I had the expendable income.

I started building my credit the day I turned 18, that’s the day I literally got my first credit card from American Express.

The students should begin to plan how to build the credit when they are young. The parents should set a good example for them.

It’s so easy to get into debt, and quickly, irresponsible lenders and irresponsible borrowers, its a mine field. Budgeting is the only way forward and planning for the future from the start! If you fall behind it’s far better to contact the lender and communicate with them instead of burying your head in the sand and hoping it goes away.

It is dangerous for immature teenager to use credit card. It will drain your money in to debt. You can opt for student loans or try to earn extra money during your free time.

I would never give my teens a credit card to ruin their life with.
